UPDATE: Citi has re-introduced an official link to the 50k AA Visa card, so it looks like this unofficial churnable link is now dead.
I usually do not like to write about credit cards on Mile Adventures because I am generally uncomfortable giving people financial advice.
However, I wanted to flag the unofficial Citi 50k Visa offer available now on Flyertalk because I think that it may be the best sign-up bonus available out there that is not being talked about a lot on other sites.
A “new” Citi 50k AA card that is churnable
The Citi 50k AAdvantage cards have long been one of the best credit card offers available.
The 53,000 American miles you would receive after meeting the minimum spend and getting the sign-up bonus was already enough for a one-way flight in Business class to Asia.
However, conventional wisdom was that Citi would only let you “churn” these cards once every 18 months, meaning you had to wait a year and a half before being able to apply for the card again.
You also had to get slightly different versions of the card in order to get the sign-up bonus again.
However, some time ago the dedicated people of Flyertalk found an unofficial link that completely changed all that.
This unofficial offer for the personal Platinum Visa card was for 50,000 American Airlines miles, with some very important advantages:
1) You can be approved without having to wait 18 months. In fact, people have been approved for 2 cards within 8 days of each application.
2) You do not have to cancel your existing Platinum Visa card.
3) You can be approved for multiple versions of the same identical card.
Why that’s important
Those three advantages are so huge because that means that the Citi 50k AA card is much more churnable than before.
Which means that you can accumulate a very large amount of AA miles without having to wait for the “usual” 18 month waiting period that was necessary before.
This is an unofficial offer
The landing page makes no reference to the 50,000 bonus miles at all, but multiple people on Flyertalk have confirmed that they have received the bonuses.
People have also confirmed that they have:
1) Received 50k bonus miles (post here)
2) Been approved for 2 cards in 1 month and received bonuses on both cards (post here)
3) Been approved for 3 identical Citi Visa cards! (post here)
Read about it on Flyertalk
All the credit for finding this goes to the hard working people on Flyertalk.
They have assembled an outstanding Wiki post about the offer that should answer most of your questions.
I highly, highly recommend reading the first post of the Flyertalk thread before applying.

EDIT: My applications
As a side note, I applied for this offer a few weeks ago and was approved. I am planning on applying for another one in a few days.
With these extra miles, hopefully Cathay Pacific First class will be in my future soon.
Note: I DO NOT have a relationship with Citi or any other credit card issuer. There are NO affiliate links of any kind on Mile Adventures.
